Ford 600 fixer upper

I inherited a Ford 600. Its in rough shape to put it mildly. I want to get her running but I need advice. I believe the starter is bad so Ive got one coming. Once I get that going I want to focus on carb/fuel. Its on LP now but that system looks shot so I want to go with regular gas. Ive researched what carb to get but this is where Im stumped. All sites say to compare to old carb model but this doesnt help me since its a different system. Can anyone tell me what carb to go with? Thanks!!

Did you motor test the starter? All FORD major components were designed to be rebuilt over and over. Guessing is not a logical approach to problem solving. Just buying new parts is not logical and new means Cheena built junk. A good reliable starter shop can rebuild the OEM part. Get the ESSENTIAL MANUALS -OEM OP MANUAL, I&T FO-20 manual, and 53-59 MPC. The latter has all the LP parts. The other FORD N-TRACTOR web site ahs the LP info as and help to convert. FORD TRACTOR, N-SERIES & HUNDRED SERIES used the Marvel-Schebler TSX Carburetors. M/S, parent co. was Borg-Warner but the TSX carbs are no linger made. Most new, Cheena made stuff is junk. You can often find used models on ebay and get rebuilt. The FORD 600 carb used the M/S TSX-580 model.

Thank you so much for the info on the carburetor. I really appreciate it. Here's a quick lesson in needs based theory; what you deem as illogical may not be so for the fellow standing next to you. However i can share with with you one action that is most definitely illogical and that is making assumptions, of which you made several about me in my original post. Don't be so quick to do that.

I may have a carb for your 600. I'll check. I do have a good gas tank from an 800. It's bigger than the 600 tank. I bought a
non running 640 last year. When working on the 640 I moved the tin work up to the 800 mounting location. Next hole up on your
steering box and same on the dog leg mounts on the front of the tractor. That would allow you to use the bigger tank. Otherwise
I'm sure someone has a 600/Jubilee gas tank for sale. I liked the looks of the taller 800 is why I moved my tin up. I'll check
on the carb. What state are you located in?

Don't take the post from Tim personally. He is like that to everybody not just you, LOL! Your best bet for a carburetor would be from a member here. There are at least two who rebuild them and have good reps. The only one that I can think of at the moment is Royse. He usually has better than new rebuilds available. You will be better off than with a new repop.

Alright Tim, youre forgiven lol. Definitely interested in the carb and tank. My mounting holes are 2 3/8 for the carb.
