Okay... I have a 1939 9N. I started it last night (0 degrees) to get ready to plow some some snow in IL. It started up just fine...I drove it over the where my snow blade was stored and returned to the shed with no problem (Hydraulic system worked just fine.). This morning (at 5 degrees) it started right up as usual...While in neutral, I raised the draft lever to lift the blade on the 3 pt hitch...after about 2 minutes the engine came to a sudden halt as if it locked up! I can start the engine with the clutch engaged. But as soon as I let off the clutch, the engine immediately stops. I disengaged the pto... It does the same thing! Have I broke something in the transmission? Is it the pto shaft? I've had this tractor a long time...I grew up on a farm and have worked on tractors my whole life, but have never had anything happen like this. where do I begin to diagnose this problem?
