ball connector on carberator rod on a NAA Trac

The rod from the govenor to the carburetor has a spring loaded connector that fits over the ball on the throttle plate. It looks like a very small hitch. The spring that pulls the connector over the ball on the throttle has worn through the connector so the connector is not tight on the little ball.
Is there a way to repair this connector ? Can I buy a replacement connector ?
Would like to avoid replacing the whole rod as a unit if I can. Sorry if my terms are not correct .
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

The complete linkage rod, New Holland part number 86552618, is about $251.00 from NH, and under $20 on the aftermarket (GOOGLE the part #.)

If you are "handy" and want to repair yours you can buy a quick-disconnect ball joint end for under #10 (plus shipping).

GOOGLE "Quick-disconnect Ball Joint".

You would have to cut your old joint off close to the end and thread the rod and find a matching replacement end.

McMaster and Speedway Motors are two example of suppliers.

Dennis Carpenter has those rods with the connectors for very short $
This.

I needed the rod that runs from the throttle to the governor. Got it from Dennis Carpenter's eBay store for less than they sell it regularly.

You can get it right here, from our forum hosts.
Throttle Rod Part Number 9N9818A
I purchased one last summer. About twelve bucks I think.
