OK experts (and others ;- )...

Since Pertronix requires that you upgrade from the old fashioned copper core plug wire to a carbon cored wire, might it make sense to upgrade the plugs as well?

I just changed over my 8N from points to the electronic ignition like you're doing, & it's using the same 437 plugs it had. Starting is vastly easier now on mine than it was. This isn't cheap to do, but worth every penny in my opinion.

FORD TRACTOR OEM Spark Plug is spec'd at Champion H10, 14mm. The 14mm is the size of the plug thread, 14mm x 1.25mm (pitch) so don't ever try chasing the head plug ports with an Inch size tap. Champion 25 years later improved the plug with a hotter one, now H-12. About then the AUTO-LITE 437 Plug was released and ALL of these will work just fine on your tractors. Plug gap set at .025" +/- .001.

All You have done is replace the points,nothing has changed in the voltage to the plugs.
