Pictures of an odd-ball modified ford block with a wild (apparently) two-piece aluminum head posted over on the AACA site. Anybody have an idea who made that head or what the application might have been?
marine conversion?

It looks like one piece to me,but it is not a N block. fuel pump block off plate suggests a truck or industrial engine.(based on the N engine)

Yes, it is a Ford block, but it has had some major work done on it!

The bellhousing has been extensively cut off the rear and the center core (or "freeze") plug has been reconfigured as a water port. The intake and exhaust port arraignment and attaching method, as well as the nearby tappet covers are still stock Ford as are the core plug pattern, the various oil line ports and the dipstick hole on the other side of the block. The bolt hole pattern on that head and the water pump shape and location also correspond with the same features on a "N" series block.

The shallow sump oil pan looks a bit home made, but that unique head is a real mystery.
