Another snow question

Zero -at least on any of my tractors. Windshield wiper fluid today is almost always a water-based mixture so why would you put a corrosive substance in of your tires? You may as well just put Ca Chl in them. I'm not being a smart a$$, just being practical. It's your tractor and your money so do whatever you wish, just saying. Consider 'Beet Juice' aka Rim Guard® for a safe alternative if you want to preserve your rims.

The trouble with rim guard is that not many tire service companies are equipped to handle the stuff. So if you have a flat on your tractor and you call someone to come out, or bring the tire in to get fixed, they won't deal with the molasses like stuff.
It is also rather expensive.
If you have a set of pristine hat rims on your tractor rim guard might be for you. In that case though I would still not use It but would run cast iron wheel weights and not fluid.
If you are like most of us who are running inexpensive looped rims, rim guard may not be the best choice.
I can see no serious corrosion issues from using straight water if you are in southern states or WWF if you are in northern states.
Or even used antifreeze which you can often get for free.
I still use Calcium in two of my tractors and am not afraid of the stuff.
 
I like the calcium, the only one that is cost effective and if you do not have any leaks you have no corrosion problems. Also new rims are cheaper than beet juice or WWF. Your machine, use what you want! The amount you use is the same for all materials I do believe.
 
I have found the chart that Jim.ME posted in error in my case. I have new 13.6-28 tires on 10" wide rims and the max fluid I could get in one tire with the valve at 12 o'clock position is 28 gallons. The chart says 43 gallons for the same tire. Big difference. Now granted a 13.6-28 tire can be mounted on a 12" wide rim which would increase the volume for more fluid, but 28 vs 43 gallons seems like a huge difference.
