The number stamped on the drivers side of the engine block is. 8n 262475. What year model would that be?

Drivers side? Huh??? If you mean the engine block serial number, it is found on all N's on the LH side of engine near below the head and behind the oil filter housing. All 9N, 2N, and early 8N's used the star *symbol in the prefix and suffix of the s/n to designate steel sleeves were used. A moot point now since they don't make steel sleeves anymore. Serial numbers used the letter "I" for numeral "1"; lower case "b" for numeral "6"; inverted lower "b" for numeral "9". After *8N-263843* changes were made, cast iron liners now used, symbol changed to a (<>) diamond prefix and suffix. Parts manuals can decipher when a part was changed. I&T FO-4 Manuals lists serial numbers. ESSENTIAL MANUALS are a huge help - get your copies if'N ya wanna be an N-Owner.

Lol, I used “drivers side” instead of left side. If there’s anyone else out there like me I would think ,left side looking from the front or looking from the back. Maybe just me. thanks for the info, it does have the stars before and after.

Still trying to get this one un-seized after sitting 8years. Been soaking cylinders for a week and still no progress.

Why is it putting all these weird symbols in my text?

Bug in the website code - incorrect encoding specified in the page headers. That causes the apostrophe character in your message text to be misinterpreted by your browser.

Yeah, most of us get that. LOL
The guys gave you the right information though.
The new-to-me 1939 does not have stars before or after the serial.
But it looks to be an early 1939 block with no freeze plug aft of the oil filter canister.

When referring to engines, the left side is the driver's left side when he is sitting in the vehicle and the engine is installed longitudinally. This also works for other car parts. The left side front fender is the one on the left as viewed from the driver's position.

More generally, the rear of an engine is where the output is. The left side is on your left if you stand at the rear of the engine looking at it. (This definition came into increased use when transverse mounted engines became common.)

If you ask for a "left" anything at a parts store they will generally ask you for confirmation as many people don't know the rule.
