Gas Tank For Pop Out Non Hinged Lid

Hello,
The previous owner said he installed an early 39 gas tank in the huge hole left by owner before him. I am pretty sure he was correct. I have been using it but with my hood swap I realized not only do I need to swap hinges around to the side but the early tank is slightly longer and the bolt holes are slightly wider than the 8N hood I bought. Before I move the mounting bracket and hinges I am willing to trade for the correct tank. It is a working tank so I'll need a tank I can bolt up and go without any fuss. I does not leak but has been patched. There is some grime on the bottom. If this is something you are needing e-mail me though the site.
Thank's

I don't have anything to swap with ya Chris, but the early 9N used and aluminum hood (first 800 units), snap-in battery door; and the gas tank was centrally located. Hoods and cover were changed to steel once they came on line. There isn't a lot of interest anymore for vintage tractors no matter who made them so values have gone down. Snap-in cover and hoods are often sought after parts.

Chris - I bought this one off of Amazon to use on one of my early '39's and it didn't fit in the hood, i should have read the reviews when people were installing them in an 8n and not a 9n. anyway, if you
think it will work for you, let me know. email is: [email protected]

sent you an e-mail this morning. Hope this works, I can run it with a gas can and without the hood for a few days but won't leave it like that for long. Hope this can help you or the next person who wants the correct tank.
