12v conversation on a Ford 8N with side mount distributor

I picked up a Ford 8N with a side mount distributor. It won't run. The people I bought it from replaced the distributor and coil. They couldn't get it running. I bought it and found a stuck exhaust valve. I had to pull the head to do it. I also bought a 12v conversation kit for it. I put everything back together. Seem like a weak spark to me. Also the timing was 180 out when I got it. Followed the manual to set it up. Tractor will not fire. Read on here how to set the distributor with a meter. Turn it over and it seems like a weak spark. It's doesn't even won't to start. No backfiring. Also I noticed the resister that came with the kit. Was smoking. I rechecked all the wiring. Everything was wired off the drawing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If your coil is marked 12V no external resistor required or similar,
then jumper or remove the resistor and try it again.
I always use a true 12V coil and eliminate the resistor on side mounts.

Thanks they want me 6v coil. I rechecked the the distributor and was one tooth off. Runs like a champ. Now I have to see why the 3 point hitch isn't working now. PTO works. Won't go up.
