My 8N Tires

I want to replace the tires on my 48N they are cracking really
bad, I have no idea how old they are, looks like 1 of the fronts
has been replaced. Is there any way to check the age of these
tires, the rear are 10 x 28 Firestone with a serpentine type
tread and the front 4 x 19 one has three raised bars and the
other also has 3 bars but some smaller ones just on the outside
of the larger outside treads, if anyone has an idea. Just
wondering. If some of my wording is wrong, I'm probably having
an old age moment. Also heard that the new rears are now 11.2 x
28, is that true?

We bought our 2N in 1987 for $1000.00 and since have run the ever loving daylights out of it.
In 2017 we replaced all tires for WAY MORE than we paid for the tractor.
Money well spent.
We also have an 8N ( nicknamed "the Junk Pile") that we paid $1000.00 for.
It came with new tires on one side only.
I'm guessing that it must have been parked under a carport for a long period and the sun took it's toll on the one side.
At some point in the future when I become more comfortable that the "JUNK Pile" is less of a JP, I'll replace all of the tires.
Even though the one side is like brand new, I can't stand the idea of mismatched tires.
O.K., I'm a bit obsessive.
I said it for you.....

Look at Galaxy tires.
Good price and wear very well.
Put one on my 8N about 3 years ago and very happy with it.
Like the tread design also.
Tractor gets used all the time and the size numbers on the tread still look like new.

(quoted from post at 18:44:39 08/29/20) This site as well as many others offer tires that will meet your needs.
o you have e experience with Tucker Tires? An Ebay add claimed just under $1000 for all four tires and tubes. Seems like it was free shipping as well.

Year and a half ago I put new rears with loop rims and tubes from Tucker on my 8N. IIRC it was a bit over $900 delivered - fully mounted and ready to hang. I got them 3 days after I ordered them and the semi driver unloaded them for me when he saw I had my broken ankle in a cast. I had previously purchased 6.50x16 fronts with rims and tubes with similar outcome. Never had a better experience anywhere/anytime and will do it again - good product at a good price and great service.

YMMV but I doubt it.

I also bought a set of rears from Tucker tires, came mounted on rims, no problems and would do again in heartbeat.

I live close to Tucker Tire in Dyersburg, TN. They say "Acres of tires"... I think it's true...it's a big place. I think he told me that they sell over a million dollars worth per year just on the internet. They seem like good people and I do business with them.

I did the same with complete rears and it was a good experience. I priced everything separately and Tucker was a good deal. I would use them again.
