8n governor/proof meter attachment

Anybody have an idea what could be missing from the back of the gov. to allow a square speedo cable to go into a round hole ??? Usually doesn't work 8) I have a new cable and know it isn't going to fit that hole , can't seem to find any info any help or info would be greatly appreciated thanks Wes

IIRC, the correct cable end is not square, but is round with a single "tab", and there's an insert in the end of the governor shaft that's slotted, similar to a "roll pin".

Yes thats what it looks like a roll pin, purchased cable from the store side of this forum so it must not be correct it is way way to long (63")and( I am addressing that with them)so it could possible be just all together wrong cuz no way it will key in to the governor stay tuned and thanks!!!

Part number for drive pin GRK10 most gov shafts are drilled to accept the pin...

If you work at it you can make a roll pin work. The original pin looks like a roll pin.

Hobo N C ,the governor does have that adapter in it it appears my cable is just squared like a standard Speedo cable, I think it's going to come down to I have the wrong cable or to miss packaged working on that now thanks for the info and part number that's good to know ,!!Wes

You have the wrong cable an OEM cable is about 35"

OEM # 8N17365, I use Sparex cables # S.61028

Harry at YT reshipped me the correct proof meter cable and all is good to go "Houston we have a working proofmeter " thanks for the help .Wes (now onto the Sherman cable replacement and 3 point piston replacement? 8) 8)
