1992 9N Purchase From Vitters Tractor In Corsicana, Tx.?

We have been looking for my Grandpa's 9N. I helped him and dad restore the tractor in 1992. It was painted Red Belly. I think the grill was a late 2N or 8N. The replacement hood may have had Ford script. It was always said that it was a 39 but I remember the shifter mounted starter button. I think it had a red light on the dash. From what I remembered about the tractor it looked to be an early 40. I believe the brakes were not repaired due to parts availability (pre internet). The frame may have marks from the 7" grinder wire wheel we cleaned the paint off with. I think the seat or seat spring was brand new. If a before picture went with the tractor it would have been Ford Blue before we restored it. It was in Teague, Texas from 1966 till 1992.

Grandpa died in January, 1993 a few months after he sold the tractor. That summer dad tried to track it down but it was on its 3rd owner and no contact. Any part of the tractor sound familiar?
Thanks.

That is a good story, your friend has quite a memory for numbers. How is the restoration coming along with his?
