Carb question for JMOR or GB in MT

or any other carb gurus. I am rebuilding a spare carb with a kit I bought a while ago. I am having problems with the main nozzle (9N9530). It seems to bottom out on the jet (9N9533) before the gasket gets tight. As you can see from the picture, new one (on the right) has more threads showing and measures .006 to .008 longer from the gasket seat to the end. Can I just grind off the excess so it seats at the gasket. Or use a double gasket so it doesn't bottom out on the jet, or just use the old one?? The old one fits ok, the new jet is in good and tight.

unless there is damage to the old one, I would just use it. All the jets can be reused if not damaged or plugs.

F I knew for certain that I had the correct main jet & that it was seated properly installed, then I would use the old nozzle.

I agree. I would clean it thoroughly first and inspect for damage.

Thanks for the replies. I will clean and inspect and use the old one. Thanks to Gary and JMOR for the excellent write up and pictures of wires showing all the passages. This is the second time I’ve use that it has been very helpful. I did find some blocked passages in this carb.
