I'm restoring my Great Grandfather's 49 8N and took the starter and generator to my local electric motor shop to have them service and clean both internally. Starter is fine. Generator is not. Armature is burnt out. Shop hasn't been able to find one and I checked with YT, Just 8n's, Fix that Ford, Dennis Carpenter's, Steiner Tractor and Arthur's Tractors with no luck in finding one. I did find one on e-bay for $50, but should I go with this or be better off and just replace the whole unit even though it'll probably be made in china? Old generator will also need a new bearing by the way.
