Back from the tractor show, and had a great time! It was rainy most of Friday, but Saturday stayed clear for the most part, other than about 45 minutes in the afternoon.
The Boomer 8N got a lot of attention, and I'd say over half the folks who stopped to look it over thought it was a custom job.
Probably typical of every tractor show, "Green" was by far the predominant color.
Lots of old Farmalls, too.
Ford was represented, from the last big models...
...to a handful of Golden Jubilee, and slightly later models...
...to the very smallest.
There were maybe a half-dozen 8Ns including mine, and no 9N or 2Ns present. There was this beautifully-restored Ferguson TO-35, too.
Don't see the [u:0b42196b6b]
Case 1570 "Spirit of '76"[/u:0b42196b6b] tractors often, and this was the first I've seen in person.
The tractor pull got rained out Friday, but they did get to pull Saturday.
I only stayed for about a half-hour of pulling, then headed back home.
In addition to participating in the Power Parade with the Boomer 8N, I entered it in the 'slow race' open class (since I was newer than 1960). The young kid next to me won, and the AC on the far end and I were practically a tie for third place - they gave it to the AC - bummer!
Had a great time for my first showing, and plan to do it again!
