It has taken me 17 years and counting. Somebody needs to make inserts to weld in place of cutting up
another hood (that I can never find...). I keep thinking I will try Zane's fiberglass molding idea. For
now I run with a 1-gallon temporary tank and the hood sits in the corner. One can mow for about an hour
with 1 gallon of gas, and I only need to mow for about 3 hours a year!

The hoods are all mostly rusted in the same place which makes it even harder to find I'm sure. You need to get back to the flea markets..... ;) Or just clean and paint it up the way it is, weld plates in where needed for function, but going hoodless is disturbing the wildlife.
