N Series Fender Hooks

Curious if these were sold as a general purpose hanger or if they typically were sold with a particular attachment. I use mine for a chain but the lack of witness marks that a chain or wrench would leave are not on this one. This is a photo of my 48.
Thank's

Not exactly like the ones we had but that is where we put the rod that held the sickle mower upright during transportation. While we were in the field we out put the bar on the fender in that location.

Thank's for the ideas, maybe these were sold as a general purpose item. The web calls the Handyman Jacks, we called them Widow Makers and mine is labeled something else and it doesn't fit the ways I tried it. The only other N I ever used was Grandpa's 40. It had the same hooks on the fender.

NOPE -not any OEM part. Just somebody's HO-MADE and/or aftermarket addition. The only part FORD ever made for the fenders were the light brackets and a grease gun bracket. These to me look like they'd be a hazard -catching on clothing and scraping arms and other body parts.

Not sure what they are for but it gives me a good idea! If they are spaced right a good place to hang your stabilizing bars when not needed.

ou maybe right about the draw bar. These are spaced 18" apart. Hooking one end on the high hook would leave about 10" beyond the lower hook. For a civilized person who mounts the tractor on the left that could cause a trip or snag hazzard. I guess if a fella was influenced by Kirk Douglass westerns he may hop over the fender to mount and dismount the tractor. Then the hooks themselves could be a snag or trip hazzard.

meant stabilizing bar, not draw.

I can't imagine storing anything on those
things. Whatever you hung there would be
vibrating and rattling the whole time you
were using your tractor.
Not me. I hate rattles.
The 1965 and newer tractors had provision
to mount the tool box on the fenders.
Yikes, they were noisy!

I'm pretty sure my late Dad could've hung a Handyman jack on those "hooks", and it would have rattled, and he would have GRINNED all the while!

Palmer Fossom didn't have those on his "option" N, there fore they were not a Ford factory option.

Whatever those were made for, it does not appear that they were used very much, if for anything metal I would expect to see paint damage, maybe a hose of some sort.

Don't go by what the late great Palmer Fossum said, he did make some errors, left some things out, and never had a complete OEM list. One thing for certain they were never Ford parts. I think they were a one-of-kind farmerized addition. Unless another pair or two are discovered that's what I'm sticking with. I just don't care for extra things hanging off to interfere -like snagging pants and shirts let alone scraping your arm. I am more curious to what the AUX TRANS shifter goes to.

remember them being more level. Don't know if they were in the frame but it seems they were more in the center of where mine are. That lever operates the front dozer blade.
