Not long ago I posted a question about using 13-6 tires on my 8N. The main argument against using 13-6 tires was tillage. I definitely agree, the ground speed would be too fast for tillage. But I do not do tillage. The purpose of the 8N is just to do yard chores. Since I got the tires cheap, I decided to replace my old 12-4 with 13-6 tires.
The diameter difference between these two tires is 103%, which is not a lot.
I thought I would have to engage the combo to reduce ground speed for normal use, but I am perfectly happy with the standard gears. So for me was a good choice.

Agreed, and the diameter increase is considerably more than 103% vis a vis the 11.2X28 tires that were original equipment on 8Ns.

Even with the OEM 11.2X28 tires, my 52 8N is almost always in Sherman UD.

I would think that reverse would be almost frightening with 13.6s, Sherman or otherwise.

(quoted from post at 22:44:18 08/14/20) What he saved on tires he'll be spending on clutches - from always having to slip it in reverse.
Yep! The reverse is a tad fast, but I am stocking up on clutches.
