Carburator Gaskets

When ordering a new carburetor for a 1950 ford 8n I received 3 manifold to carburetor gaskets. When installing the carburetor, are all 3 gaskets necessary or will one do?

I was told by a mentor that if the ears of
the carb are bent, aka over tightened, then
you can add extra gaskets to seal the gap.

Others told me that if you had problems
with it running well in the heat, then by
adding the several gaskets will slow the
heat transfer from the manifold to the
carb.

Likewise, I was told that if you had
problems with the carb freezing up, remove
the gaskets and so that the manifold can
heat up the Carb.

NO! I don't know who you bought from, but I have never seen 3 gaskets included in a kit. Don't know about the new aftermarket,Cheena made junk sold, I've never bought one. You use only ONE (1) gasket on the manifold flange to mating surface on the carb. there is also only ONE gasket that mates the two carb halves together. That's it. Don't buy into the myth that 2/3 gaskets can be used -BS. Same with exhaust manifold. Band-Aids are short-term if they work at all. What was wrong with your OEM Marvel-Schebler TSX-241 carb? You do know all the major components on these old FORDS were designed to be rebuilt over and over and should be your first choice when working on these vintage machines. You want to sell me your OEM M/S carb? I also have a few originals already rebuilt and ready to go. My email is open.
