Coil Continuity 8N front Mount

Have two "spare coils" for my 8N front mounted distributor. I get continuity when I connect top terminal to the "pig tail" on both but nothing on either when I connect top terminal with front tab. Are both of these coils bad? thank you.

check your meter scale.

primary should be 2 to 2.5 ohms. Maybe less if 6v.

Secondary ( post to tab) should be 7 to 8K ohms.

ig question is, what is continuity in your mind? On high voltage winding, you are looking at 15,000 Ohms, not one or two Ohms.
