Need 2nd opinion starter switch is bad

If I turn on my key and bypass the ground on my stater button with a screwdriver, my tractor will start. Otherwise, if I just push button, I will get a quick pop noise and then nothing happens.

I know it may seem obvious, but I would like a second opinion if any cares to reply.

Thanks!
Scott

Ya sounds like it is time to replace the switch! be careful when you remove the top cover, there is spring at the back for the detent ball. order gasket when you order switch!

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Dead battery perhaps. I'd get it tested first at a shop. While it's being tested, verify ALL wiring via continuity. Is it 6V/POS GRN or 12V NEG GRN? Root cause problem solving is the ticket -not to just start replacing parts willy nilly. You don't tell us either but is it a 9N/2N model or an 8N model? All 9N/2N models used a 1-Wire Starter Motor with NO Solenoid. The 8N introduced the 3-Wire Starter Motor with the Solenoid. Get your essential manuals and wiring pictograms out.
