Steering box after 216988

Trying to rebuild steering gear on 49 8n. After the headache of removing steering wheel. I'm at another headache. How do I remove the pitman arms without damaging something??? Tried removing with the sector side covers on and with them off but neither side is giving. All I have removed is the packing, lock washer and nut. By the book it also shows a bushing and seal, I'm guessing that's in the housing.
Also, when I removed steering wheel I didn't remove the column seal not unless this is it still in wheel.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

A bit of heat from propane torch should help. When you take the steering column off, you should find the rest of the parts.

Buck a large hammer up against the side of the arm in the splines area, then smack the opposite side a couple of times with another hammer.

Arm will pop off, or at least be loose nought to pull easily.

Heat worked. All the bearings came out in pieces except for lower and I have them all out. Haven't ordered replacement parts so I don't have them to go by so that leads to my next question. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this ring around shaft part of the upper bearing for worm. I don't believe it's a seat for bearing but not sure.
