How long for parts delivery?

I don't want to come across as an impatient fellow, just a curious one: I ordered miscellaneous small parts for my 8N Fords two weeks ago from one of the often-mentioned N parts suppliers. Nothing exotic, just things like sediment bulb gaskets, other miscellaneous gaskets, a couple of carburetor pieces, etc., for a total a bit over $100. When I check my account, it just says "processing." I've already received a credit-card bill that includes the order. I emailed the parts company today so it's too soon to expect a reply. I'm just curious whether two weeks and counting for a simple order is a pretty common wait time, or am I being too impatient? (Maybe next-day shipping on that one huge online retail site has spoiled me?)

I know shipping has been slow due to covid19 but I've placed a couple orders for parts from here at YT and have gotten them within a week no longer than 10 days

Time is all over the map because of nnalert-19 People cannot work as fast.
I ordered a fuel pump for a j deere lawn tractor from E.bay It only took 30 days from order to
delivery. I would order from YT but they do not deliver to canada.
Steiners sent an order for a multitude of parts. Said it would take longer than normal
Got it within two weeks.I am told that Amazon is faster than eBay.
Patience.

I order all sorts of stuff, probably half a dozen things this week alone. Shipping is completely normal. I ordered from Messicks Monday night and had my parts today, Wednesday. If I have to wait two weeks just for some sort of response from a seller, I cancel the order and find someone else.

I order part daily its a mess... This flu is just an excuse in my opinion, the USPS was already in a fudgen mess now they found an excuse that does not explain why they were in a fudgen mess to start off with...

The worst state I have ordered parts from is Texas what a fudged up state when they tell you they can not sale tax exempt RUN...

I ordered a choke rod from an ebay seller on the 6th,the USPS said delivery on the 13th. Nothing on 13th and the item was not marked as shipped, and must not have been as I contacted the seller to complain and got a refund. It still hasn't been received,so I bought another from another seller on the 14th,still hasn't come. I may weld the ends to a rod and use it like that.

I've noticed anything shipped USPS takes forever, if it even shows up. The tracking will show it's at a main DC, but its stuck there for almost a week before it moves and then it seems to take a tour of the country before it gets to me. If they can't ship it UPS or FedEx I won't order it because I'll get it within 3-5 days depending where its shipped from.

(quoted from post at 23:12:06 07/22/20) I've noticed anything shipped USPS takes forever, if it even shows up. The tracking will show it's at a main DC, but its stuck there for almost a week before it moves and then it seems to take a tour of the country before it gets to me. If they can't ship it UPS or FedEx I won't order it because I'll get it within 3-5 days depending where its shipped from.

I ship almost daily using USPS and my service is extremely good. Priority Mail flat rate and First class packages are typically 1-3 days from pickup to delivery and tracking updates daily. Nobody can match their domestic or international flat rate prices and service.

UPS ground is also good but prices are insanely high. UPS Smart Post is just the opposite. Those packages often sit at a USPS batching hub for days, routing is insane, and tracking is inaccurate and days behind.

Five days ago I placed a small 4 item order with a "well known" vendor and as of today it is still "processing". It will ship USPS Priority Mail and if past history is a reliable indicator will be on my doorstep 1-2 days after USPS gets the package from the vendor. In the mean time I am waiting on the vendor's shipping department. They are either out of stock or out to lunch....

TOH

USPS is no slower than anyone else, they're faster in many cases. If you have a delay in getting your item, it's most often the seller not getting the item to the shipping company.

I used to rebuild racing dirt bike[2 cycle] motors, and most of the parts were from California. On one occasion,I ordered a part that was unavailable for about 20 years and it was passed back and forth 3 times between centers in California though it was sent from Phoenix to Tennessee. It was sent from Az-Ca,bounced around for 2 weeks, then back to Phoenix only after I asked a Lady here to find out what happened. I've had bad experiences from other carriers, but UPS is still the best way to ship a motor[55-75 lb] cross-Country.

I ordered a few small parts from an 8N vendor not YT and after a two week wait of "processing" I sent an email inquiring about my order. I sent my email at 10:49 in the morning. I received an email at 11:45 the same day from the USPS stating a label had been printed and package was waiting for pickup! Coincidence? Package arrived three days later!

Trick to speedy delivery is the time of day you make the order.
I'm in Washington state and I can get it in 2 days, by ordering 1st thing 8am in the morning.
I see it next afternoon 2pm.

It depends.
I searched for a year and a half for a correct air intake tube for my tractor. Bought one in OH about 6 months ago but it was some roll your own job from Midas Muffler. Had to eat that one. Finally found one in KY. Seller said he shipped it on Monday.
If it gets here within a couple of months I'll be a happy camper.
The anticipation is a big part of the fun.

UPDATE to my original post. As my post mentioned, after waiting for two weeks I sent the company an email politely asking when my order might be shipped. I got an automated reply the next mornlng blaming parts shortages on the coronavirus (pretty much a universal excuse for everything these days), but a couple of hours later I got an actual email response saying my order has been shipped (with a tracking number). Is it a coincidence that the order, being in "processing" for two weeks, got shipped less than a day after I politely whined? Who knows? I just hope it arrives so I can fix the carb.
