Working on a 49 8n governor. It's
working fine but it needs maintenance
performed on it. Have two issues.

1st. How do you remove the needle
bearing without removing the plug on
the other side that aligns with it?

2nd. Need to replace lower race on
shaft. I've used a punch to try and
drive the shaft out of gear with the
edges of 18191 (don't know what its
called) part between gear and lower
race sitting on jaws of vice and it
hasn't moved any, only scarred up the
piece that's on jaws. Question is....
if I press it out will it bust this
piece?

I use this to pull the gear. Works fine-- had to grind on it a little, so the gear would fit. Would expect the 18191 to bend or brake in the press.
The 11/32 quarter drive socket, the C lamp, and the 19 mm 12 point , 3/8 drive, work nice to push the needle bearing and dust cap out.

Both patented tools worked like a charm!!! Needle bearing took only a few minutes, gear another story. Throwed a towel over it expecting socket to bust. Bearing definitely needed replacing. Here's a few piks. Thanks for the help and quick reply Soaked.
