Cylinder sleeve removal tips

I have pulled sleeves from a fe different engines but have never bought a puller. I make my own out of a 7/8 diam. fine threaded rod. Whatever actually engages the sleeve to pull it up through doesn't need to be very thick. Whatever you use to break the sleeve loose doesn't need to fit up through the bore.

I was needing to pull sleeves one day. I'm a ways from town so started looking around. Found a 1/2 inch plate with a hole in it, an old gate hinge with long threaded shaft and a pulley. I used it on a few engines. I used it on a transmission last to pull a race in and broke the pulley. I'm still kinda sad about that.
