Does anybody have an idea of what I can do to replace the hydraulic cylinder on this loader? I broke my right cylinder and can't, for the life of me, find a replacement. YT would not allow me to post a picture, but its the top assembly that screws on to the main tube of the cylinder.
Thank you-

Bjorn

At $600 for a new gland, a new cylinder was also my first thought.

I have known for a while I work way to cheap. A new replacement cylinder is starting to look very economical. Not to mention awfully easy.

Thank you for the suggestions. The first shop I took it to wanted $600 to remake the gland. Waiting on second shop's opinion. He mentioned the possibility of TIG welding with a nickle rod as a possible option.

Making a replacement is not super difficult. IIRC I charged $65 for making this one 12 years ago. The price would be a good bit more today.

Sounds like you need the cast iron "gland" that seals to the barrel and contains the rod seals.

Likely, a nearby welding/machine shop could make you one out of steel, it's been done many times.

Issue would be cost, if you're lucky you might find a semi-retired guy that has a little shop to make one for you reasonably.

Also, it's possible the old part could be welded or brazed.
