Front axel pin removal

I am rebuilding 48 8N engine. Having difficulty in getting Front Axel pin to come out. The bolt turns but does not back out. Disconnect the whole housing and pushed the wheels out of the way but need to change the busing as there appears to be more play that should be. Recommendations or thoughts.

ME? I would take everything off as to lessen any mechanical binding, That includes knees, spindles, wheels, tires....
Once your down tom the base center axle see what you get.

Sounds like the threads on the bolt are stripped. Try using a pair of vice grips clamped to the head of the bolt and pull on it as you turn it. Also possible someone has installed a through bolt and there is a nut on the backside that is turning. If all else fails drill it out and if needed install a thread repair insert. Once you have the bolt out you will likely discover the pin itself has become [i:4d01035a9c]"self retaining[/i:4d01035a9c]". At that point remove the axle support with axle center section still attached and drive the pin out from the backside.

While the front axle Pin & Bushing do see extreme duty, and wear, you might be surprised how much clearance there will be with new parts.

As a side note, don't shim the fore & aft of the front axle too much. Needs room to move.
