Had to take hydraulic pump out of 1950 Ford 8n and replace exhaust valve. Checked lift cover and adjustments and all seemed to be within specifications. Replaced pump and cover and added oil. Started tractor and moved quadrant to top. Lift arms came up about of expected travel and then stopped. I still had the inspection plate off the right side of the tractor and looked inside at the control arm. When I pulled the touch lever to the top the arm would travel forward and touch the front of the pump and then would jump rearwards approximately 1/2 inch causing the lift arms to stop at the point. The only thing I found wrong when inspecting the lift cover was a slightly worn cam. The follower pin was in excellent shape. The pump seemed to be working just fine. The position control lever was up. The draft control does not work at all. Anyone have an idea as to how to fix my problem?
