Brake Adjustment

Left wheel, looking from the inspection hole. Do you turn the star wheel CW for loosening?

Both wheels are off. I did not remove the brake drum[b:163cdc03e0] yet[/b:163cdc03e0]. The left wheel is freely turning forward. Backward, however is extremely hard to turn. Is the problem related to inside the drum or in the axle somewhere.
The right wheel rotates either direction fine.

I thought I had written that down somewhere, but can't find it now. However the FO-19 manual for my NAA says to turn the screw toward the rear of the tractor to tighten the brake.

If it we my machine I would remove the drum, it sounds like you may have a broken spring! not that hard to do once you have the tires off.

Yep, I was going to remove the drum, just wanted a confirmation and like you said, it is most likely a lose-broken component.
