9N Hydraulic Question

Lifts good with weight but won't come down right away. Pulled pump more than once. Cleaned real good, results the same. Pulled it again and put in all new parts. Same results, up good but won't go down. Pulled it again with arms up, took control valve out, arm stayed up. Took caps off valve chambers, arms still up. Took out relieve valve, arms dropped. Took lid off, everything looked good. Moved quadrant many times, no luck. I've kept this old girl going for 40+ years but this has me baffled - anybody have a pump zipper?? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Not good enough because the exhaust valve is not working. Its either sticking in the bore or something is obstructing the port opening. The lift came down when you removed the relief valve and opened up an alternate path for the oil to exhaust.

Did you drive the bushing out the control valve rides in.
s Hobo suggests........., my response was intended to say, pull the control valve [b:2de6c4150b]bushing[/b:2de6c4150b] out and clean behind it.

Should I drive the bushing out and put it back in or do I need to replace it? When I cleaned it, I used a deliming tool (for a coffee pot) and ran it clear through both sides.

ut it back, as there are really no replacement options.
