8N flooding when hot

I have been having an aggravating issue with an 8N flooding. The carb has been replaced and float adjusted to the best of my ability but the issue remains. I can run in for about 45 mins to an hour and the flooding starts. The last episode I removed the gas cap and encountered a sucking or release of pressure. The cap was replaced but I really cant say If this is when this started. Recently Ive started reading about non-vented and vented caps and the reasons for switching due to the holes that vent the tank getting clogged. Would a venting or pressure problem cause flooding once the engine warms up to operating temp?

8N has a bubble on the top of the tank that has a hole in it to vent the gas tank. Sounds like your bubble hole is plugged. Wanna cheat?
Drill a small hole in the gas cap. That would be my fast farmer-ization.

Thanks! Ill do that. Have you heard of that condition to be one cause of flooding?

Yes, your 8N fuel tank must be vented to prevent a build up of pressure in hot weather. In the event this pressure exceeds the ability of the float to hold the needle valve closed, flooding can result. The vapor pressure of gasolene when heated is much greater than when cool.

Note: An electric fuel pump can also cause pressure related flooding problems.

Thanks Ken. I will look for vented cap and if I need before then will vent the one I have.
