9N ignition kit

i am trying to help a kid that works where I do and find myself a little lost.He bought a ignition and alternator for his 9N, someone has
installed the alternator and starter for a conversion to 12 V. He has no spark anymore so I dont know what was done but I will try to put
the distributor back together. The dist is mounted on the front of the engine and the coil with his kit is huge and and is not a typical
coil. Coil is #1FD0003 from kit #AKT0001 The box the parts came in has the name Tisco on it. If anyone has installed one of these I would
be grateful for any support or info you could share with me.

Here is a picture of the 9N front mount distributor with coil attached to it.

THe distributor has an offset tang that mates into the camshaft. It can only go on one way. Held on by two bolts at 7 and 2 o'clock. When trying to install rotate the rotor until you feel the tang mate with the camshaft. DO NOT FORCE and do not bolt up until it is in the correct position. Point gap is .015. Firing order is 1243 counter clockwise.

And make sure the pigtail on the bottom of the coil has enough length to reach the brass screw in the distributor after you have put in the new cork gasket. I spent way too much time trouble-shooting that one recently.
Do all the bench checks for continuity as per Bruce(VA) list, before installing on the engine.

thanks so much for the replys to my questions, I will give your pointers a shot next weekend when I get over there to work on it, with no directions at all to go by I was truly not sure what to think,so thanks so much for your insight and responses.
