Was just leaving the garden area when the tractor started sputtering really bad. Was able to keep it running a few more seconds by moving the throttle around before it died. Let it sit a couple minutes and then started it but had to choke it, which I rarely ever do. Checked the gas and the tank is full. Bowl was full. Took it off because it was pretty nasty and cleaned it out. Put it back on (without changing the gasket) and turned the valve back on. The bowl would not fill even with the engine turning. Cracked the nut at the fuel line to the carb connection and fuel started to flow. Loosened fuel connection at the carb and fuel flows good there too.
Could this be a stuck float valve?? I have not had to mess with the carb in the several years I have owned 5he tractor...
Any ideas on what I should do next would be greatly appreciated! Had my wife tow me home from the garden....
