Stop when it squeaks?

Happily mowing w/ the '52 8N and she started to make a squeak from right rear axle - so stopped under the shade tree. Axle nut & washer AWOL. It did have an 8N4187 snap ring - because I'd had to retighten & set that some 3 yrs ago - so I do keep half an eye on that axle.
Anyway - question - Is it as simple as push hub back onto axle, add washer & tighten nut . . . or what else should I watch out for ?
I see from JMOR's reply in post 1024829 that I have to watch for the axle sticking out beyond the hub. BTW there is no oil leak - so seals are ok? these two pictures may help - if i can post them. Thanks! Angus

Hub is pretty far out on axle. Rather than risk thread damage by using only 3-4 threads to try to push it back on with weight on it, I would jack up that side and push hub/wheel back on axle. Then add washer & nut and tighten to 450 ft-lbs.

Thanks JMOR - yes that was the plan, I just hope the ground I stopped on is firm enough to take the weight. May have to enlist the wife's help - I'm guessing it'll be a wobble & push effort?
So assuming the axle isn't worn & beyond the hub - I should be able to party-on, thanking my lucky stars that I paid attention to the squeak & that the wheel didn't come off ?

(quoted from post at 06:12:49 05/29/20) I would put some Loktite on the nut when you go back together.
wouldn't, because you need to re-torque periodically. Plus, that is what the lock ring/wire is for.
