seal orientation

This appears to be a dumb question but here I go. Got the seal for the Sherman step up and pressed it in with the orientation I would normally think. Pretty hard to press it the other way I would think. What you see in the picture is the oil side. faces the transmission. Based on what I know this is wrong. Input?

Agree. This is the transmission input shaft tube. Holds the clutch throw-out bearing. Its in a Sherman but I believe same seal without Sherman. So I have my seal installed backwards. Could be tricky pressing in on the spring side based on what I know.

I unscrewed the 3 allen head set screws,
Pulled the input shaft out, and took the
pic. This is how it was run.
