Gas Caddy Fuel Hose

I have a 30 gal gas caddy with electric pump. I had the 3/4 rubber hose for about 4-5 years and it is so stiff that can hardly be bent. I was looking at a braided-fuel rated clear PVC vinyl at Amazon and I wonder if it would be a better choice for replacement. Any experience with vinyl fuel hoses? Would they retain the elasticity better than rubber hoses?

Proper fuel dispensing hose is made with a wire woven into the fabric, or conductive rubber to dissipate static charges, and some plastic or rubber hose will actually build up static from the fuel flowing through it. We all know that fuel and static don't play nice.

You are dealing with a quantity of gasoline, I have no specific suggestions, but I'd look to see if there's any hose of the size you need APPROVED for gas dispensing use.

Vinyl has a relatively low chemical resistance to pump gasoline. Rubber is a much better choice.

Sir, I believe Northern Tool offers replacement
"fuel hoses" and nozzles if required.
Good luck, gajack

Vinyl doesn't tolerate fuel very well. Napa will have bulk fuel hose so you can get the exact length you need. West Marine will also give you bulk fuel hose so either way it will last longer and be safer.

When the vinyl is degrading the material is disintegrating. That stuff is flowing into whatever tank you are filling. Not good.

I guess I will go with the standard fuel transfer hose replacement. If I have to replace it after so many years because of stiffness... so be it. Thanks.

I believe any farm store will have the hose in stock. They keep them for transfer tanks on farm PU tanks
