Ending up with serious mission creep on my latest project to replace stinger shaft drive hub and crankshaft pulley for my loader. Got an oil leak, possibly from the front main, but will need to check oil pan bolt tightness first. If I do need to replace the front main crank seal, I plan on using the one piece seal from NAPA.
For installation of this new seal do I need to drop the oil pan in order to get it properly seated? Or are there any tricks or tips? Been reading threads about the one piece seal installation but most seem to be from folks putting an engine back together after a rebuild.
Also, how difficult are the timing cover and governor gasket replacements? The governor is definitely leaking oil, won't be sure about the timing cover until I tear into all.
Not the best time of year to work on a tractor with snow to move and temps close to 0F--and no heat in the shed! Thanks.
