New member here, I've been getting all my info for my tractor for over a year on this site, awesome site!
I'm in the middle of rebuilding my hydraulic pump and noticed my housing is cracked, it's cracked between the exhaust port and the square part the bushing goes in so I would say it is junk. Does anyone know where I can get a housing shipping would be fairly cheap on the aluminum part. Everything I've came across is the whole pump which I may have to go with but if it is used I plan on rebuilding it so I'm good for spring and summer so that's why I'm looking just for a housing as I have the rest of the parts.

Is it the aluminum base that is cracked? This due to water getting into the system and freezing then trying to run it while frozen thus busting something. What color was the oil when you looked at it? A brown/milky whitish color indicates water contamination. Hydraulic oil should be a clear, honey- like color and consistency. Determining the root cause problem of why you had water should be a priority so it won't happen again. You can get OEM pumps on ebay, rebuilt or not, at decent prices but may vary. A whole new pump is not going to be cheap no matter where you go. As a newbie, and any old fogey who doesn't have them, the best investment you can make as an N-Owner is to get the Essential Manuals. OEM Owner Manual, I&T FO-4 Manual, and the 39-53 MPC are important tools to own. The boards can give advice and opinions but the manuals are your Bible -read religiously. I have the I and t and the smaller one on top in your photo, the I and t one has been extremely helpful disassembling the pump.. I believe also it was cracked because of water ever since I bought tractor hydraulics did not seem as they should it is parked in a garage now that doesn't get below freezing. I'm thinking it was cracked before I purchased it. I will email you later for your instructions thank you

Sub-freezing temperatures won't cause frozen hydraulic oil in the system inside or outside -water will so be sure you check it as part of your PM. If tractor is stored outside, keep it tarped -rain is one culprit but condensation also is as well. Many N owners store their machines outside and when maintained properly will start and run in cold weather. You are probably right that it was cracked when you purchased it.
