Winter Project Week 9 - running

Sorry, no pics this time. Got my ignition parts in and my temporary gas tank back on to test run. Starts and runs good. All the gauges work, 35 pounds of oil pressure and the gen is charging. Got the seat installed and the canopy framework off, marked up for machining and welding. We got a couple inches of snow last night but I wanted to drive it and see how tight the front end was. You may recall that was the original problem that got it parked, the steering was so loose it was not safe to drive. The city got the streets cleaned off so I did a quick test run. I'm super happy that the new steering box fixed all that, no wobble and it returns to center correctly after turning. No leaks, rear tires ran true, and the brakes work. Its back in the shop and I came to the house to warm up. Dang even at 10 degrees its still cold out there. We've had it too good so far this winter, now it gets even close to normal for January and you think you'll freeze to death. No update next week we'll be in Texas but there is a 2N I spotted on CL we're going to check out. Haven't decided if I pull the trailer down just in case or just drag it over to my daughters for safekeeping until my next trip down. You all be safe whilst I'm gone.

Parts and tractors from Texas. A hoot. LOL About 15 years ago I was looking for a pair of 28" tires and found some in Texas about 30 miles from my sister's family. I bought the tires. Then, I paid my niece and her boyfriend and their gas costs to pick them up and take them to my sister's house.
We drove down pulling my 29' travel trailer and stayed a week in a local New Braunfels campground. The tires went into my truck box and rode all the way back to Michigan.
BTW, I have a cousin, retired from John Deere, in Des Moines and we stopped there on our way back.
