'B G', and I, had some snow moving fun today. MAN....that diesel sure can move some snow.....!!! FEL, makes short work of the time it takes to pile the snow up, and out of the driveway.
Bought myself a dang good workin' tractor. Lot's of things had to be fixed, before putting him to work,....a few $$'s and he works his hind-end off.
It's amazing how much tractors, in this area cost. Then the fixin's start!!! Didn't kill me off, but.....spendy gets the finer things.....PS...Good brakes....lots of choice in gearing.....FEL,.....locking diffy ETC!......everything I had been looking for......Just a 'Learning thingy'....then off to the races!!!
Second snow of the season, for 'B.G.'!!

Better you than me Gary. I do not consider that fun. Another couple years with old 'B G' and you will be ready to take the next step - MFWD, HST, and a heated cab :D

I've already been through the 'next step' with all the niceties, and with their high cost of repairs/parts!!!
Thirteen yrs of it just prior to my health problems caught up to me.
I ended up selling this one.....and never looked back!!!
This also had a closed in/heated cab.!!! PITBOTTOM SIDE!!!!!

(quoted from post at 20:06:58 01/05/20) What's the story on the exhaust?

That, I put over the exhaust and run it out/under the rear axle, to keep the shop from filling up with diesel smell.
I'll change the manny to a down and out hookup, when I save up a little op. cash!!!

Keep it running, more coming your direction, rained here all day and all week will be wet. Pendleton got good rain today so it is getting closer to you. Glad the tractor is working out for you. Us old men need all the help we can get!

All I see you needing now is a good set of tire chains.

Yep.....the plowing today, was not without a few spins on the rear tires. Actually, 'B. G.' did really good ....I'm loving that dif. lock!!!
Sure came in handy on the ice, and slight grade up into the upper drive-way.
I've got a set of 'like new' 'duo Link' chains, but they need to be longer, and not sure they are wide enough for the 13.6x28' tire that are on the 3000.
Prob. gonna have to get a new or used chains that fit.

Looking good GB! I'm glad you got to have some fun in the snow. I had to get some new chains for my red tractor, I ended up getting the duo links with the extra cross links in between plus v-bars. They ride much better than regular duo links and the traction is unbelievable. I don't have a diff lock but I haven't needed it. Between those chains and loaded tires it goes right up my steep driveway.

Wrong color - green and yellow paint is notoriously expensive.

funny ha ha funny... I use mine a hour a year I think the accelerator pump is stuck : ( I can deal with it for now till I have to go back into it for some other reason...

Its fired up every time I have used it for the last 10 years are so, I thought the other day it was EI time it did not lite right off... WTF then it hit me pulling the headlight switch does not work as good as the choke... pulled the choke it fired up life is good...

You look like you're having entirely too much fun, Gary! No question about it - a loader bucket makes all the difference when the snow gets beyond a certain depth.

I finally got around to putting the back blade on my '50 yesterday, but have yet to see enough snow to warrant using it. As an aside, the old '50 had been sitting there for several months (no battery tender and didn't have my magnetic sump heater on, either), and it popped on the first 'rumpa.' Had to spin it over a bit after that to fill the carb bowl, but it fired right up once it got some juice.

I did get to use the Boomer 8N a couple days ago to help out a struggling divorced mom and her kids that live down a badly rutted gravel drive that drops in elevation to a creek bottom before rising the same up to the house and gardens/pasture. I ran my disc up and down the drive about a dozen times to break it up, then ran the box blade a dozen times or so to level it back out. Turned out nice, and the pic she sent the next morning was beautiful with the 2" snow we got overnight.

They had also bought wrapped hay bales for their milk cows, but the guy who delivered them refused to go down the driveway and left them out by the road. The Boomer with pallet forks made quick work of relocating them to their barn.

The weekend forecast calls for maybe 3" of snow - still won't be enough to plow unless the wind kicks up and makes it drift.

Keep us posted on how the snow cake is doing, hear?
