Steel wheels

Saw these on eBay. Do they go on in place
of tires? Or with the tires.

I think those are mud lugs for 9N or 2N, but not 8N. Bolt on the wheel centers outside of the tires to add traction. Not stout enough to run by themselves. I'm sure I've seen a picture on the net but can't seem to find it now.

"Not stout enough to run by themselves"

They are stout enough for me and others.

They can be used either way.

FORD never made the Tip-Toe options - always just an aftermarket item. Made for rice paddies, sand, and muck. Contrary to some beliefs, steel wheels were around long before rubber on all tractors and Ford on steel didn't just come out on 2N warhorse models. The 9N offered steel wheels as options from the beginning.

Kirk that looks really good. I wish those steel wheels were closer, they are cheaper than tires and easier than rim repair!

Never heard of or saw a skelenton type wheel for a Ford, other type yes. The skeleton type was not popular on any make up here when steel wheels were popular.
