Swinging drawbar bolt hole question

I have a question about the bolt holes for the swinging drawbar. My tractor has some sort of interesting adapter bracket for the wire pulleys to a front
mount plow of mixed manufacture (seriously, it?s got parts from a few companies). I find the front mount plow mostly useless for anything but snow, and
the tractor is too long with it installed to use on my tight-ish driveway for snow, so it?s been off the tractor collecting dust. I?ve been meaning to take the
adapter hardware (a wire attachment near the bell housing, the aforementioned bracket, and two brackets under the fenders) off for a while and offload
the plow, but one thing holds me back...do those four swinging drawbar attachment bolts penetrate into the rear end housing? As in, if I remove them,
am I going to get a face full of fluid? I just changed the fluid and would really rather not do it again this year. From the diagram in the FO-4, it looks like
they?re probably dry and I should be fine, but has anybody removed these bolts and can confirm?

Blind holes on my 8n.

What Tom said, but just so you won't worry, stick a drain pan under there and slowly loosen one the bolts until it comes clear out. Then do the rest. I'm sure you will have a dry drain pan.

If you removed that draw bar bracket from you 8N and put the bolts back in the holes, the bolts then might be too long for the holes and penetrate the casting. In other words don't ever put a longer bolt in one of those holes. You don't want them to bottom out.

I've taken them out and put them back in three times in the last month.
No leaks.
If someone had busted longer bolts through the casting, maybe.
But I would expect that without sealer, they would be seeping anyway.

The front mount plow is a handy attachment around here.
If you're anywhere near me in central Michigan, I might be interested.

Oh absolutely, I planned on replacing all the associated fasteners. Several of them are definitely too long just by quick eye check.
