A BIG thank you to all of you folks out there that responded to my Questions about those 9N Stay Bars
so that I could safely haul out some logs, using those Stay Bars, which I have ordered from Yesterdays tractors.
My Order is in and I look forward to getting them delivered and installed in addition to that 11-hole draw bar. Certainly appreciate the purpose of this Forum...Ron in Maine with a 1941 9N

Here is an important SAFETY FEASTURE to know about the STAY BARS, an important feature that is included in every N Operator?s Manual. When the STAY BARS are installed, they include a SAFETY WARNING BADGE which MUST be set and locks out the 3-pt Quadrant Lift Touch Control Lever so one does not try to lift the 3-pt otherwise great damage to the 3-pt and hydraulic system will result. NOTE: There is huge difference between STAY BARS and STABILIZER BARS; they are not the same so know the differences. FORD introduced an improved modified version of the OEM 8N clevis and Dearborn Swinging Drawbar with the Hundred Series tractors and is the style that is copied and sold as aftermarket kits nowadays. This set-up is a much better design than the previous OEM 8N style because you can leave the drawbar installed for most every application. The prior model required one to remove the swinging drawbar when hitching an implement up otherwise it would interfere with the connection. The 9N/2N tractors require a specially made bracket to fashion the OEM or the new style clevis bracket to. One or two fellas make them -maybe TOH for one???

Tim....you have shown some good Light into a Dark Cave!!...especially with the several photos that you took the time to Drive-Home a very important Safety point about using that Safety Badge Lock out, my Ford 9N Tractor manual does show that same set up. I need to Order that " Badge". I'm pretty sure YT will not send one along with the Stabilizer Bars that I have on Order. I will search YT to find their Part Number and get that thing Ordered. Appreciate your Feed Back on this Tim and any thing else that you post on Tractor info. Keep it coming !!..Ron

You can get all of those new parts at nnalert -SEE LINK. There is a fella on the Ford N-Tractor web site who sells used parts in the ADS forum, had a badge or two, see picture for LINK (they won't allow me to post the web site here for some strange reason). They have MANUALS and HOW-TO documents for free downloads too.

my son accidently lifted the 3 point, with a hay tedder attached. Had to rebuild the drive shaft. I now zip tie the lift lever down when hooked to an implement while using the PTO. Anybody goy a better solution?

I would if I knew where I got it and from whom! I save tons of pictures of tractors and trucks and stuff -and don't always remember where I got them from let alone give credit to. Technically once they're out there on the Internet their fair game. I know this because I researched copyright laws for published materials. The Internet basically changed everything. Public Domain. Last year there was a Ford Tractor dealer selling parts who used my 8N tractor picture in his ad for N-News and such. I told him he used my photo and he said he simply Googled 8N tractor photos and got mine so he used it. In the next issue he added my name, then after that used somebody else's photo. Now that I know it was your photo of the OEM Hundred Series drawbar bracket I will note in my saved picture album. It gets change when I upload to Imgur anyway. When I used photobucket I would save them to my own file name but I'm not going to do all that with my Imgur pictures. Thank you Patrick for your photo...
