shifter pin

have 1945 2N having trouble with pin on shifter keeps wanting to slide out while finish mowing wondering is there a trick to get it to stay thanks

also shifter seems to have a lot of play in it up & down ??

Vincentfigaro ,If your pin is worn,replace it.I have used a grade 8 bolt,taped threads into the shifter ball.Then put red locktite on the bolt threads and screwed in the bolt.Then cut the bolt off with a hacksaw to the proper length.Or if your pin is still good,swedge or serrate the end that goes in the ball and use some locktite on the end.

Vince, Does it move up and down freely or does it kinda spring back down.If it moves freely the spring could be brolen or spring keeper out of place.Top cover would have to be removed to repair spring.

is it supposed to b pushed up mine is down if i pull up it goes back down but shifts ok thanks
