HELP!!! I'm struggling with repairing the lift on my 53 NAA. I've changed all of the seals in the cylinder and on the housing. I've also adjusted the lever linkage thinking that it was possibly the problem. Nothing seems to work!!! Now I'm thinking its the pump....? It picks up without an implement therefore you would think the pump is fine. Can anyone help me trouble shoot this problem? I am getting really frustrated and tired of working on this dang thing. Thanks

If it will raise the unloaded arms but not a load you are not getting adequate pressure at the cylinder. That could well be caused by a worn out pump and a pump pressure test would be informative. To do that you need to remove the accessory plate under the seat and block off the port delivering oil to the valve and cylinder. Install a pressure gauge in the test port on the side of the tractor and start the engine. Pump pressure should be close to 2000 PSI.

It did but now it won't. I tried to bush hog with it just to see what would happen, now it won't pick up at all.

A Pix in this post of going thru the fill plug and manually working the lift linkage...

Its the fist place I go and hope the lift works if it does I known I have a lift linkage ware issue are a lift piston issue and forgo testing the pump for now... You can see the end of the lift cylinder and check for a massive leak thru the fill plug hole : )... If a NO GO then round up whats needed to check pump pressure...

I have never checked pump pressure BUT it should be part of a diagnostic check...
