52 8n distributor oiler?

Hi all, I assume this protrusion from my distributor is the oiler, it does not have a cap is has a ball bearing that feels spring loaded from the inside. I can't seem to find this anywhere online. This is a "new to me" tractor and I'm trying to get a basic tune up finished before putting it to work.

Also my points and condenser seem to have been abducted by a previous owner. :) I have never dealt with this either. Is there anything special or just set the timing with a light and let it go?

Thanks everyone!

I have never seen that style of oiler on an 8N distributor, but that is what it is. That is a Pertronix ignition module. It replaces points and condenser.

In the picture it looks like a 1/2" fan belt. Supposed to be 5/8". If you need to replace the alternator pulley (assuming has been converted to 12V with alternator) they sell them on this site, about $10.

Ford used more than one type of distributor oiler.

I've seen the ball type before and, IIRC, my 52 has that type.

I'm guessing a few drops with an old school oil can? Use the tip to ouch the ball in. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the belt info, cooling system is next then electrical. I know the adjustment bolt on the alternator is stripped, it is a 12v but looks very old and abused. I think I'll just order a new alternator with a proper bracket and belt when I get that far.
