I have two ford tractors
Tractor # 1) is an early 9N one flat axle, one riveted axle. Aluminum steering column, 6" crack in the block, looks welded, brazed, and JB welded, no exhaust system, burns enough oil to make a blue cloud. No charging system, the generator functions as a fan belt tensioner to keep the water pump turning. Starts, runs grades driveway. Newer tires.
Tractor # 2) is a 2N, recently rebuilt, high-low gearbox. Two rotten tires.
With the value of tractor #1 being close to zero, I will probably swap tires and get rid of tractor #1. It is handy to keep #1 with a blade and #2 with a mower, but by the time I spend $800 for new tires for #2, I think I would be better off to use that cash to replace #1 maybe with #3?
I don't have a plan on what to do with the carcass of # 1 once I take the tires off, what should I do with a tireless ford 9N? I have to find a spot to take the tires and leave it. Is tractor #1 worth a newer set of tires on rims for trade?
