8N carb bowl not filling (float?)

I have a quick diagnostic question for the experts.

My 1949 8N was experiencing poor performance at above 1/3 throttle for a few minutes and then died in the field. It refuses to start. I have checked for
spark...big nice blue sparks. Points look good. Brightened and tightened all the electrical connections anyway. Have checked for fuel, get nice fuel flow
to the carb at the metal fuel line end. At time of failure, was getting fuel out of the carb bowl drain.

Once electrical system was checked I pulled the carb and checked for debris, etc... Found considerable loose, dusty rust from old fuel system collected
in the bowl, so cleaned/replaced all the screens and sediment bowl as a precaution and cleaned the carb, replacing the gasket and sloshy sounding
float as a further precaution, since I had the parts on hand.

However, after reassembly, I am not getting any fuel to the carb bowl. Fuel still flows freely out of the fuel line end, but when the line is reconnected to
the carb no fuel flows into the bowl. Have I botched my 1/4? measure on the float, or is a passage likely clogged somewhere I missed and preventing air
from displacing to allow fuel into the carb?

ust follow the path. Make sure it is clear, that the needle/seat are not stuck, that float is not bent & rubbing side of bowl, etc.

Correct. Zero fuel coming from the drain. Zero fuel in the bowl. Fuel is making it into the carb elbow (which is new and unclogged) and flows copiously if the fuel line is disconnected from the carb.

I?m going to check it at lunchtime and see if perhaps the float isn?t centered correctly and is rubbing on the bowl wall, etc...

Problem solved. Float needle was stuck. I didn?t originally replace the seat and needle, I just cleaned them. Guess that wasn?t enough, as upon
disassembly I found the needle was sticking. Removed and replaced with new parts, tractor fired right up and ran smoothly once the carb was adjusted
correctly. Thanks for the help!
