1939 ford 9n

I received this tractor after it sat in my grandfathers yard for 20+ years. Got it to start and run pretty quick and cheap.

Now I have put a box blade on it and it has two lift options. All the way up. Or all the way down.

Is there a way to adjust this lever?

Unfortunately the 9N doesn?t have position control. It was designed for plowing. I have a ?Zane-Thang? attachment on mine that allows for pretty good position control. I don?t believe they are still being manufactured, however you can purchase something similar now from Red Rock Manufacturing, their three point position control should do what you need.

Yep, Jerry9N said it, POSITION CONTROL didn't get released until July 1947 with the introduction of the 8N Model. All 9N & 2N Models only came with DRAFT CONTROL. The late Zane Sherman made and sold his "ZANE THANG" device for 9N & 2N models which added Position Control, but since he's passed, no longer serviced. Finding a used one is rare since most guys want to keep theirs. RED ROCK MFG, Pella, IA makes a similar device -see the LINK below to see the list of their products. Scroll down to the one you want. Some fellas also use LIMITER CHAINS to maintain an implement at a certain height. Sold at most tractor dealers or web sites.

Good morning...??
After sitting outside 20 + years, did you notice the condition (visually)of the OIL in the Transmission, Hydraulics, Differential..as well as the Engine..???

1939 9-N ...is 80 years...

Last year I purchased a 1945 2-N from the original purchasing family. The Tractor had been in a shed and not ran for 30 + years. Oil was Nasty!

I was able to obtain a satisfactory cleaning with some disassembly...

All the best with your 9-N

There is something stuck as you can set the lever for any depth you want or you could not use a plow with it. May be stuck on either inside, most likely or outside. If you set the depth setting still and then start to move it will raise it slightly as that id the depth control working but if it goes from full up to full down something is stuck.
