Rust in the water passages

I pulled the water pump and it is ugly

Is there a way to clean the insides of the motor that won t leave me with holes in the block? I worry that the rust may be holding it together

Zeked,If the pump is that rusted then the block passages are possibly slam full of crap.Also the welsh plugs are probably rusted paper thin to.I would get the new pump on knock all the welsh plugs out,then get it outside and get after it with a water hose and nozzle to get all of it out I could.Then install new welsh plugs and use some radiator flush in it,flush and back flush till the water runs clear.Install new 50/50 coolant and some rust inhibitor.Check thermostat and hoses,replace them if they need to be.
